Unreal Poem by Jeanette Telusma

Unreal

Rating: 5.0

On Valentines Day, a day of love
A senseless act took place in Florida.
Love totally expressed the morning of.
Parents gave hugs and kisses to their children.
Husbands and wives did the same.
Exchange of love was in the air.
Laughter and happiness was everywhere.
Feelings of belonging was near
Then darkness appeared
And swept it all away.
Shoots were rampant everywhere.
Screams of children running for their lives.
Teachers standing in the face of fire to save
The life of children whom they viewed
As their own.
Wow........ in this very moment I'm at a loss
For words.
.............................................
So senseless, an act as such.
How much pain could one be experiencing to allow
The mind to take them on such a devastating path?
Strengthen oh Lord, all affected by this Unreal experience.
May 17 Angels rest in peace.
May they some how with the Holy Spirit bring
Comfort to loved ones in this hour.
A community is now mourning the loss and devastation
Of a promising future.
But through the rubble, through the pain
Through our loss for words there is hope.
Their is still a promising future for Florida
By those left behind.
They, we will make a difference.
We will still stand.
Because of them we have no other choice
But to stand and carry on.
With God's presence all thing are possible.

It is really regret that the seventeen students and teachers of Florida have lost their lives in mass shooting. Dear Telusma, you have very heart feltly and vividly inscribed the event in this poem. May their souls take rest in peace. Thanks for sharing.
