Unspoken Poem by Dee Gey

Unspoken

Some decades ago,
I bear witness to a steadfast love,
(Or so I thought it was)
I never imagined that she had to give it up.
Hearts were broken, his and hers,
(Mine too, I guess)
When she chose "them" instead of him.
In the silence between the two hearts,
The pain was there, unspoken.
(I felt it too, I think)
And my beliefs about relationships
Were never the same again.
