Untimely Harvest Poem by Jevon Wray

Untimely Harvest

Angels on the sideline

Watch curiously our decadent decline

A land shared by men and more

Till our greed parted us from the divine

Listen closely age old lore

Transcending generations, eras, time

My mind open for you to explore

Repugnant is the creature

Say I.

That abandon's the adventure

The journey to lift thine eye

Naught but seeds needing nurture

Breakthrough branches reaching ever high

High,

High up to light,

Brilliantly blinding this preternatural encounter

Evolution is nigh.

Alas the clouds set in oblivion and gloom

Bringing omens of war,

Whispers in the wind of doom.

A clash of lightning

A rumble of thunder near so far

Heard but not seen our fear is darkening

Armed curiously the storm is coming

With your eyes upon the sky

Hear the call to arms, the war cry

Smell the fire searing the land, the innocent die

Taste the blood that fuels the fight, We will never fly

Feel your purpose edging you to the line

But not across,

Balance must be restored after the stars align.
