Untitled Poem by Ellen Kang

Rating: 4.5

I walk down this dark, moonlit road alone.
Feeling like a hollow, empty corpse.
My heart heavy with grief and sorrow.

Ravens fly over my head in the cold dead sky.
I keep walking, listening to their deadly violent “caws”.
I touch my hands, feeling its unbearable iciness.

Cold, icy snow starts to fall from the sky.
My hands grow colder, my face turning pale.
I keep walking and walking down this lonely dead road.
The icy snow hitting my cold body with every step I take.

My body grows colder and colder.
My face feeling frozen, the warmth is fading away with every step.
The deadly “caws” growing louder and louder.
The cold growing stronger,
My heart beats slower and slower,
As the cold grows stronger and stronger.

A raven perches on top of a tree by my side.
It stares and stares at this pale, corpse like figure walk down the road.
The raven “caws”,
I simply ignore it and keep walking.
As I am taking each step,
I start to feel my heart beat fade away,
My body feeling heavier than ever.

The raven “caws” louder,
It lets out the deadliest “caw”.
As it “caws”,
My heartbeat fades away,
My body falls over as my spirit and soul is lifted.
I am no more.

That is quite a story told in this creative poem with it's great imagery. I would title this 'Shadow of Death.' Ravensong
