Untold Tale Poem by Amber Millar

Untold Tale

Rating: 4.5

This is the untold tale of my life,
My real life,
Behind the mask,
The smiling faces and good grades,
I'm just a silly little girl,
Who doesn't really understand about anything,
Well, that's what I am in their eyes,
The real me does understand,
I understand better than someone twice my age,
I've thought things I shouldn't think,
I've done things I shouldn't have done,
I'm feeling things I shouldn't be feeling,
I'm so confused,
I'm sad but I'm happy,
I'm so tired but I'm wide awake,
I'm on auto pilot,
Not concentrating,
Saying the right things at the right time,
But not really meaning it,
I hide behind the black clothes,
Hoping that no one will notice me,
But they always do,
I'm the girl in the class,
Who always gives the right answer,
And impresses the teacher,
I just don't mean to do it,
So, there we go,
The untold tale of the untold girl...
