Up The Cliffs Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Up The Cliffs

Of chill gases up the cliffs
Here
Place of sea scratching
Below
An
The rocks thrill and
Thrill
With a magic, magic will.

In wise old and
Ancient times
Here came
Ancient knights with paramours
Whilst an island small
Withered in the dark and mists
Growing dark
Deepening mists.

So I give you to me
Give
If you work the formulae
Round these Principles
The Mind Brain has to heat
On
Vast empire of machines
Go and come
And
Come and go.

These hard rock plains
These farmhouses
These sounds growling
Though no dogs or other:
Here
There
Fleeting with velocity
Naked ghosts cross the wide plain.

Fleet as lightning
Come
Fleet as lightning
Go
Ah!
those times were so
Long ago
And yet these times be so
Now
Now ….
Hist! I hear Zephyr come…
