Upon Reflection Poem by Cormac S G Hoare

Upon Reflection

Thou art my sweetest Juliet
Thou I ne’er will forget
The scarlet colour of your lips
The curvaceous lines upon your hips
And all that lies in between
The finest goddess ever seen
The dark waves that fall within your hair
The soft complexion of your skin so fair
Your soulful eyes, ever deep
Your hand that I had longed to keep

Far away or nearer still
I will love you right up until
The life drains out from my heart
And death will keep us far apart
But forever more shall I wait
For you, behind that cold dark gate
To have you yet within reach of my arm
I will protect you from any harm

But while we are alive my dear
I would rather hold you near
My life is mine and yours you see
And forever happy we will be
