Upstepping This Balcony Poem by james watkin

Upstepping This Balcony

Upstepping this balcony
For more glamorous views
Every inch a duchess, she
Of low birth too feels now.

Thin skirted, scarfed, blown sumptuous
Of a more stately age!
In response to what, below
Waved at, of new swank
Her man with a duke's own rank
This act does endow.
