Vérité au Pouvoir
Exilé au monde sans paroles sombre
où le fait de parler la vérité au pouvoir
vous reçoit encore trente jours
de solitaires; avec seulement le pain et l'eau,
Je colle ma langue étranglée par les bars
le fait d'espérer suspendre un participe.
Le fait de savourer le moment où je suis libéré
comme si c'était une fin à mes problèmes;
quand en fait ce sera juste un autre jour
à moins que les cafards n'organisent
et nous confinons sur leur Capitole.
Truth to Power
Exiled to the dark wordless world
where speaking truth to power
gets you another thirty days
of solitary; with only bread and water,
I stick my strangled tongue through the bars
hoping to hang a participle.
Savoring the moment when I am released
as if it were an end to my troubles;
when in fact it will be just another day
unless the cockroaches organize
and we march on the capitol.
