Vacant Parking Lot Poem by D.A. Woods

Vacant Parking Lot

Rating: 4.0

My love's died, a horrible disease,
she left me stranded here at the beach,
left to a city armed with some leech,
left me here alone, what a lesson to teach.

Miles apart, always out of reach,
when here, you where already crossing seas,
my emotions and heart you besieged,
you gave up the woods for a tree, a lesser each.

Leaving is never easy on a gentle breeze,
but it rocked my core and killed all beliefs,
in always together, loves innocent breach,
you came and went like a midnight thief.

Soft, kind words evaded your speech,
with your ridiculous demands, at my church I did preach,
with unheard words bestowed hard upon me like Nietzsche,
still with God, Love, Hope, Trust, Faith in Mankind...and in you, I beseech.
