Vacation - Poem by C.R. Ebowski

Ocean mist
Machine gun spray
Sand on my feet
Salty air
Sweat stained clothes
Sunglasses on my face
Children playing
Sandcastles constructed
Enemies surround me
Hands clench
Muscles tense
Sand between my toes
Salt in my mouth
Blood on my hands
A beach vacation

Alienation on the beach, and none of it wasted on you.
What, exactly, is this a vacation from?
Did you use the proper sun screen?
It all comes thru. Nice work.

Watch out for those Nasty Bull Sharks...I have been attacked three times by sharks and twice it was by a Bull. I must smell like sushi. (Report) Reply
