Vagabond Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Vagabond

Vagabond

Mendicants have own ways!

Some wear cast, plaster
-to show hand broken!

Some on head faded cap,
-use visor, pretend!

-Some stand with a sign:
- "Am homeless with hunger! "

Each of them is smart
-creative creators…

This one was special
-at the door, a Bellboy
-stood and greeted
-at the gas station…

Said nothing to mean help,
-politely embarrassed.

I was there for coffee
-asked the girl for sweet
-intended to give him.

So, asked her, the server:
- "What is best…? "

She worked for Tim Horton
-talked before I ended:
- "He gets our left over,
-from dough to chicken! "

Harmless, he, seems to earn
-much more than the worker!
