Valentine Rains Poem by Bamukunda Hillary

Valentine Rains

.
When the thunder and lightning strikes
And hearts like doors shatter to shudder
Spare not the ventricles in those unloving hearts
Let the drizzles begin hostilities on heads bent down to hate
And the blazing storm and whirling winds can blind eyes
That can't appreciate beauty when they see it
.
When with anger the turbulent waters finally roll on the ground
Let them cannonade and bombard the earth crust,
Let all the river banks burst and sweep away all bad feelings
To where torrent floods will pour them onto cold hearts
As straying tree branches fall aimlessly on unforgiving hearts and stingy hands
To sanitize and canonize their satin spirits to live in zee world forever
.
When the heavy downpour finally takes leave
The dustless roads can then be flooded with love
The I cherish yous and I love yous that have stalled can now move quietly
The shy kisses and hugs can now take courage and knock each other
The grey ticks can blue tick with a courtesy reply to last year's application letters
The fading clouds will leave hearts open for the boy and girl child to excel
And for the hearts that have withstood the storms of togetherness
Valentine rains should drive them to a vacation in Florida or Kabale
To hold on each other till the summer
