Vanishing Value Of Seldom Used Words.................. A Trolaan In The Style Created By Valerie Peterson Brown

Why must I always do this?
Write a poem in the created style.
Who knows if there's something I missed?
Will it end up lost; forgotten in my computer file?

He who writes poems surely knows better.
How can wordplay convince an objective judge?
‘Hardly ever', is the answer unless in a personal letter,
helping a friend laugh who needs a small nudge

Every time I do this it makes me feel good.
Each poem makes me think in a different way.
Enjoyment from knowing at least I understood
evolving poetic forms brightens my day

Voluntarily committing time and energy shows
Value in language when we stop to explore
volumes of seldom used words we do know
vanishing in poems written ages before
