Vanity Poem by Raymond Valadez

Vanity

I am a sweet dream I am a nightmare. I am charming but I am the one harming.
I am your dream come true, but I am also the worst thing for you.
I use my looks to seduce, but it’s my words that will have you hook.
I am a sweet dream, I will be there when you wake up I will be the first thing you will see.
I am a nightmare, I will be always there but I will never have enough to care.
When you look at me you will fall more in love.
But looking for too long will just get you lost at such a high cost.
Nothing will stop your desire for me.
And when you see me with other people you will feel so much envy.
Tell me to come back because you need me. That with out me life is so empty.
I am your vanity.

I am what makes you stare in the mirror.
I am the voice that tells you if you stare long enough you look weirder.
I will destroy you, while I walk every moment before you.
No you could never leave me.
I am your vanity.

I am the reason why you stand tall, but when some one calls you ugly I am the reason you fall.
Yessss it me that has control you see. Because you’re too vain too seee what truly lies beneath.
I make you, I make the fake you, no one will ever see the real you because I have killed you.
Waste your time on me. I am your vanity and you will never be happy.
I am your addiction, to make your condition.
I am your justification I am your validation I am your classification I am the personification
Of your entire inspiration.
I am you vanity.
