Verbal Diarrhea Poem by Govind Ramakrishnan

Verbal Diarrhea

scarred
for life
she was....

not from
the burns inflicted
by an archaic kitchen stove
which quietly
became her life...

or those instances
of physical abuse
levied against her
by her drunken husband

but by a barrage
of verbal diarrhea,
sprayed from
his foul mouth,
each stinging word
sharper than any sword

Abuse can come in many forms and verbal abuse can be extremely painful.

what a beautiful poem. Captures the plight of a million women who are abused by men all over.

Yes, words can be as cutting or burning as the stove this woman was chained too. Thoughtless words tossed out to damage, maim, control.
