Verses Of Sorrow Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Verses Of Sorrow

Verses of sorrow
Interspersed
With the drear of the morrow
How drear is the Dawn now today!

Round sixty years of suffering
Gathered in a single poison drop
Wastage of rare life, its carnage.

Mother, a hundred years ago
You heard my first cry of birth
Now from heaven hear my sorrows.
