Vertiginous View Poem by Matthew Harris

Vertiginous View

Spokesman for mother earth,
the following i share
high athwart the global sphere
planet earth doth ap pear
tubby as a mere

twinkling gem devoid
of lesions from hair
brained schemes
to exploit dear
gaia, where

legions of selfish
aggrandizement tear
ring into all four corners
of terrestrial orb queer
rill us lee wreaking havoc

yet blithely mare
ring greedily exploiting
n denouncing jeer
ling lee with a malicious glare
those staunch eco-centric dossier

defiant defenders of earth and air
subject to rampant abuse
since onset of industrial
age crowing deuce
iz scoured bowels of

planet earth glacis loose
to wring and extract sought
via figurative noose
metals deemed precious
justifying wanton excuse

said esteemed mother nature
privy to sluice
sucking out glittering gems
violating every truce
drafted with faux ning obeisance,

but in sin sear ruse
to trick n mistreat vis a vis
opportunities with lame excuse
in an effort to seize -
by aggressive means - the goose

that laid golden egg interpreted
to line pockets - n vamoose
to those native americans
annihilated juiced
for pleasure destroying flora and

fauna i.e. game such as moose
to crown efforts as righteous
from their religion did reduce
once resplendent oblate spheroid
a wasteland characterized by Dr. Zeus.
