Viewpoint From A Star Poem by Dani Miller

Viewpoint From A Star

As he looks up to see the stars,
He wanders into the cold night air.
The freeze goes through him
As if he isn't even there.
Its not like he can feel it,
He is thinking to deep to feel anything.
He is just standing there...looking at us.
I'm not sure what he's doing. Daydreaming?

I am the dull star off to the side,
I am always dimmed by the lights.
You never really notice me much.
Unlike the North Star which shines bright.

Amazing how I can see him from up here.
He lies down on the grass and just stares.
His eyes are searching the sky tonight.,
For answers? Someone who cares?

That I am still not sure of.
Kind of amazing how his gaze landed
Directly on me.

Walking outside into the snow,
Is a girl still searching for answers.
The questions eating her inside,
This is her illness; her emotional cancer.
She looks up and stands there blankly.
Inside questions are running freely.
I know she is freezing cold.
But it doesn't show really.

My gaze flies from the girl to the boy.
If only they knew I was watching right now.
I might could even let them know that
There is someone who is like them, somehow.

She falls to her knees and I can see
Her masscara running as a stream
Black streaks of things un-perfect,
Another reminder of her silent screams.

I remember this same girl.
A few years ago she was filled with joy.
What happened?

An X-ray to her heart:
'I hope he is looking on the other side.'

An X-ray to his heart:
'I hope she knows I haven't forgotten.'

So many miles between them.
It ruins a love that is meant to be.
I hope they meet soon, because
Each mile holds more un-certainty.

This might sound cliche...BUT this is kind of a long-distance love thing ya know? Like online or something.
