Vinegar Or Wine Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Vinegar Or Wine

Vinegar or wine

In childhood worked in shop
I observed and was taught
To respect the better customers
"Choose for them best grapes."

That era and doing physical
Did me good; learned a lot!

Also learned: "Left over has place, "
Nothing should, goes for waste.

The not sold went to jar
A huge clay one.

Top we sealed with adobe
Then some mud...

Time played great game
With secrets of nature
Director led actors
Inside that theatre.

"First turned alcohol
Then after vinegar."
I was told and so learned.

Long after in school
Teacher taught chemistry
Birth of wine; of grapes.

Unlike my classmates
I enjoyed and had fun!

Opening the fridge came to life memories.

There, bucket had melon, patiently I crushed
Took spoon, then second, to fill mouth
No more was sweet but, tasted like vinegar
The melon, bucket, time have played
Exactly same old game…
