Wait Poem by Kev Elmer

Wait

You walk in, hand in hand,
breathless, I can hardly stand.
Pure beauty to my eyes,
like an angel from the skies.

I tell myself we must talk,
over to you I do walk.
Tired I stand, you show me a seat,
and offer your hand so we can meet.

We talk on this night,
and it feels so right.
We get on really well,
anything more, who can tell?

A couple drinks more, the conversation flows,
we talk about everything, anything goes.
Your number on my phone, you do put,
call you, on it our hands shook.

You kiss me on the cheek,
my heart skips a beat.
You give me a wink,
as I finish my drink.

I now stand and leave my seat,
after sorting another place to meet.
In your arms, a hug for me,
is this the way its ment to be?

For us only time will tell,
if we really do get on so well.
To meet again, I cant wait,
I'm left in this emotional state!
