Wait No More! Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

Wait No More!

When your body I’m holding,
In my arms that are folding,
While spinning you round the dance floor,
In your ear I’ll be singing
To love’s passion I’m clinging,
Please don’t make me wait anymore!

If our friends only knew I’m still waiting for you,
Who knows just what they would say?
I want more it is true, tell me what can I do?
Must I come to you in only my dreams?
If you really care, then please join me there,
You’re toying with me or so now it seems!

Make me wait for you no more.
Let me enter the secret door,
That leads to your heart and it’s passion.
And then once I am inside,
Take my hand and darling guide,
Me to the place where our love
Will stay in fashion.
