Waiting Poem by Sankar Sarkar

Waiting

Someone was expected to come
Someone often comes
Someone always comes
You will be one of them,
Either he or she
Neither he nor she
May be any being
Must have liaison with me or you
Through haunted ancestral
Directly or indirectly
Visibly or invisibly
Related to relativity of relation;

We must have known to each other
Here or there, anywhere else
Along the dark or lighted rat lane of life
Amid co- existing with love and hatred
Yet we are co-related to co-efficient of universe,
We are to approach towards the same point
Either by gravitational or centripetal force
Neither both of them
But by relativity of love
We have been ever meeting
On this earth or else where

As every bit of dust exists
And upholds this creation
I know someone will come
Someone will call me by name
Since every dust does to my cells
This someone may be you or not!
But it no matters
We are in ever knot of meaning
Of this universe,
So you have to come
And I have to go
We have to greet each other
Or one another expected
At any juncture of vastness

This heart will wait
As awaited as a sprouting seed
You could never refuse my hospitality
You could never hide your entity
That gets rooted fathomlessly,
This world is ever haunting place
Somewhere or sometime we must meet
Perhaps strangely or concurrently
We are on walking or running
And on moving ever under impulse
From here to there
And there to else where
Where the horizon of realization
Mixes infinitely

Someone will come
That may be you or else one
Before going to bed
We need to meet
Heart counting days
Though days are numbered;
Eyes getting strained
Skin getting wrinkled
Body getting plagued
Blood getting repulsed
Yet heart seems as sharp as keen fetus

You have to come
As my upheld desire struggles for meeting
Wherever you may be
Or wherever you stay or exist,
Whether this journey
Hallowed or unhallowed,
I am a being of all beings
I am on carrying consecrated soul
Wherever we go or return,
There is ever greeting of dust of the soil
We must feel our arrival
Both in dark or light
In the sensation of the heart of dust
In the fragments of the wrecked
We must confess our relation
To each and every
Someone have to come
Someone have to go
We may be of them
We have to meet here
