Waiting For Number 3 Poem by Randy McClave

Waiting For Number 3

I'm cautiously waiting for number three
That is if God had ever created her for me,
She will be filled with joy and kindness and charm
She'll be the one to bring me happiness and no harm.
I have been waiting for her with a bag of rice
As I have already been married and divorced twice,
I thought that I was in love with the first two
But, the love I was given wasn't there or true.
I want a woman with no lies
A woman who sees me as I would see her as a prize,
Who will not steal or break promises or cheat
And whose heart and soul isn't full of deceit.
I was sad and hurt and very unlucky with my first two wives
They never truly loved me were I thought love strives,
I never did like their true selfs or their boyfriends
That they had hidden here and there with odds and ends.
My first two marriages ended in a divorce
That I believe was the undeniable course,
I was sad and unhappy and in undeniable soulful pain
Who knows, but maybe they both felt the same.
I did not like their desired lifestyles
It gave me heartbreak and them smiles,
And then when I found out the truths and the secrets
Many nights I went to bed heartbroken and sleepless.
Once they were the pride and the love of my life
So, they became my joy and then my wife,
One brought me misery and led me to slaughter
Then I knew that she was the Devil's daughter.
I divorced the first because of unhappiness and a broken heart
We both had sadly grew a part,
I divorced the second because of lies and adultery and sin
I didn't like where she was going or where she had been.
The first two women weren't suppose to be my mate
So, we three ended up with a different fate,
Those first two are now with other men
I still haven't found a good woman to give me a win.
Who knows maybe she is still really out there
Every night for her I solemnly do say a prayer,
I thought that I had met her once before
But, in the end she wasn't who I was looking for.
I am so tired of the lies and the gossip and the debating
So, here I still sitting and wondering and just waiting,
One day maybe in my ear God will whisper
And then happily and soulfully, I will finally meet her.
