Waiting For The Rhythm Of The Rain. Someday. Somehow. Poem by RIC BASTASA

Waiting For The Rhythm Of The Rain. Someday. Somehow.

and so the drought came
all water in the river all gone
stones crack and dusts are wild birds
flying hysterically everywhere
till they all dropped dead with the
leaves that rustle for the songs of the
dead.

someone feels it from outside this world
with all hopelessness, and into a graceful
surrender he joins with everyone and everything.

until the feeling is gone. until nothingness
becomes an acceptable situation.

we too feel it today and yet we worry no more.
this is the real state of affairs. There is no surprise.

and then contentment reigns. in the vast silence
a song is buried. Waiting for the rhythm of the rain.
someday. somehow.
