Waiting: Hoping; Believing; Knowing. I Still Have Faith. Poem by Nii Odoom Annoh

Waiting: Hoping; Believing; Knowing. I Still Have Faith.

Rating: 4.5

How can a cold stone be disEASED?
How could a rock be cultivated.
This rock has been transfigured
What was but a cold emotionless rock is now a fertile land.
Land ready to be cultivated.

But no one else will be allowed to till this land but you.
It will remain fallow till you are ready to cultivate it.
Anyone else who tries to farm on this land
Will be met by hostile ravaging weeds and thorns.
My heart has been pierced
And my heart splashes nothing but images of you.

You are the only one I would want to give
My heart to because you transformed it.
And I am ready to wait as long as it takes.
I know this seems crazy.
But there is always some madness in love
And there is reason in madness.

I have faith in us
So I will wait for you
Like a lonely house.
I will wait for you like a bat in hibernation.
I will still wait for you when the leaves from the nearby trees fall
Even if their branches wither I will still wait for you.
My patience has no end
So I will wait for you
Till there is no more sand left in the hour glass.

Beautiful love poem, well articulated and nicely penned from the heart in poetic diction with conviction. Love is a strong spiritual force that affects all and sundry profoundly. The poem captured this almighty experience of love. Thanks for sharing Nii. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
