Wake Up (1995r) Poem by Patrick Wescott

Wake Up (1995r)

Rating: 2.5

The masses have lost their voice,
as we are told how to live.
Treated like children,
told who to believe in.
We're dictated by old men,
ruled by their interpretation.
Choice has become a myth,
lost in the past.

Hey!
Pass the collection basket over here,
so I can make you richer before I wake up.
What are we doing?
When did we lose control?
Watergate? World War II?
Or maybe Valley Forge?

Our leaders are playing us
against each other.
Planning how to rule,
while playing us for fools.

They say they have a plan?
Well I have a plan,
and their not in it.
Are you going to pay me
like we pay them?

Wake Up!
