Walk Poem by Libby Harvey

Walk

Rating: 5.0

Dark, deep, gloomy.
Depression sets in, this is how i feel.
Disturbed and influenced, my mind has matured.
Suffer myself to deal with the pain.
It is not some child-ish game that i play, to seek some foolish prize or walk to the finish line with a prideful stride.

Its real, i can feel.
Emotion poured into my veins, as you walk over me and lock these filthy chains.
My immortality does not belong to you, nor me.
Do you feel this reality?

Cut me right back down to size, and walk away.
Just before you leave me hanging out to dry.
Nail-biting verbs fly in my ears straight from your tongue.
You got me a time or two.
I was gullible, once.

I refuse to give in,
to every terrifying sin.
I chose to kick, fight, scratch, and claw.
Scrambling to overcome the flaw.
I will not let this take over me.
Nor will i be a red carpet for thieves.
