Walking Away Poem by DAVID TERRY

Walking Away

Walking away is not as hard as staying
It’s like praying
Conveying meaning when nobody else will hear
Or be near
Even when you dearly give all you can
It’s ok when you ran
Because a fan or friend will not cut you behind your back
Because they lack
The tact
To own their own shortcomings
And misgivings
Unforgiving
So sometimes you have to walk away
And not delay
Or choose to stay even though your heart wants to
Needs to
Or needs her too
It’s best to simply go
And never know if
It would grow into something more
Than it was before
Or what would be in store
For two
Out of the blue
Me and you
