Walking In Circles Poem by Leria Hawkins

Walking In Circles

Don't go burning down the bridges
That we've built ‘tween me and you
Just leave a little wiggle room
Cause believe me, we're not through

And don't go building fences
To reign your passion in
We both know that you can't tame it
It's like a second skin

Don't try to draw the line
And pretend you've taken sides
Cause you know our kindred spirits
Will always turn the tide

Don't tell yourself its over
Or buy into that lie
Cause it's not over, till it's over
No matter how you try

We've had our ups and downs, babe
But there's just too much we share
And you may try to turn the corner
But, we're a circle…not a square
