Walking In Scotland Poem by Randy McClave

Walking In Scotland

I went to Scotland still
Even though everything is uphill,
Everywhere that I want to go, I gotta climb
There you must be in your prime.
Every time that I see steps or stairs
I then immediately say my prayers,
Because, they are heading up to sky
After each step I then begin to cry.
Every step that I take
I huff and I puff for goodness sake,
I know that I wouldn't be wearing a frown
If just occasionally I'd be walking down.
I am so tired and weary
I am sweating and my eyes are teary,
My legs are getting tired
Taking me to the destination I desired.
Soon I will be back home
Longer in Scotland I will not journey or roam,
Then when I go to the store,
I won't be walking on hills or inclines no more.
