Walls Of Grace Poem by Holly Jamestone

Walls Of Grace

My jaw dropped when I heard my name
I didn’t know what to say
The words stuck in my throat, I guess
I chose to drive away

You called to me but I was quiet
A pain I can’t erase
In my rearview mirror now
I still can see your face

I wish that I had waved to you
But life continued on
Years sped by, clocks told time
Till one day you were gone

I hope next time you call my name
That we may then embrace
As Heaven welcomes one more man
Within the Walls of Grace
