Wang Wei: Going Towards The Five Royal Tombs Is My Wanderlust Friend

Seeing Official Chu Off into the Qin District
-- by WANG WEI (701-761)
-- Translated by Frank C Yue

Going towards the Five Royal Tombs is my wanderlust friend;
For my exquisite sword, a thousand gold pieces I spend.
I take off my sword, and give it to you as we part,
As a symbol of the great affection of my heart.
