Want You Back Poem by Ash Desrocher

Want You Back

Life without you,
holding me back,
from making decisions,
from holding you too close.
I hoped and wished for you back,
but you never came,
no matter how much I screamed for you.

I held my breath,
wanting to have you holding me,
as I cried,
but instead,
I looked at the dark sky.
The stars were holding me and the clouds wiping my tears,
but they're not you,
so the tears keep falling,
harming me,
more than you had.

I thought of asking you out,
allowing myself to be brave.
But you walked out,
and I couldn't help but smile in doubt,
cause I knew it would never happen.

You and I were just a dream,
so as I lay here,
under a starry night,
calmed,
collected,
hopeless.
I wanted to have you back,
but maybe I'm better off alone,
without you,
without them,
and without anyone,
standing in my way.
