Wanted Poem by Mellisa Salazar

Wanted

Rating: 5.0

I always wanted a rainbow zebra
I always wanted a room where the furniture was on the ceiling
I always wanted one of those pianos that plays itself,
but if that happened while I was sleeping I'd freak out
I always wanted to know what my toys thought of me
If they had any thoughts about who I am and my ability to play
I always wanted to live amongst the stars without leaving my bedroom
and so I write and I write and I write because it's what I always wanted to do
