War - Ww1 - Cast Iron Honour Poem by Paul Warren

War - Ww1 - Cast Iron Honour

Rating: 5.0

How your honour would be duly made
For your lost and missing comrades
With your eye-sight as your sacrifice exacted
A cast iron model with each feature well crafted
On the back of the Cathedral Menin Gate
To touch and feel every feature ornate
And to help us all bring them home.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
On the back of the Menin Gate Memorial there is a cast iron model of the memorial placed there in part so that blinded ex-servicemen could feel the features of the memorial that they can't see.
