War - Ww1 - Faded Words Poem by Paul Warren

War - Ww1 - Faded Words

Faded words on a grave stone
So many years have since gone
Killed in Action in France in 1916
His grave was lost and can't be seen

His name is written on the wall at Villiers Bretonneux
The Australian national tribute is written there
But in the Southern Land they count the cost
Tears were still shed for he who's lost

So when his parents passed
On their grave stone was written last
His name engraved with Killed in France
For their family grief that was their only chance.
