Love a mystery! On the surface, the story in this poem hasn't one ripple and stays serenely looking back at us... The speaker, however, could be so many different people in very different roles- it makes me wonder, makes me think, could she be saying one thing and laughing at us under her breath. I will read more by Louise Tredoux and maybe that will give me a clue.
