Washington, Lincolin & Now! Poem by Tom Zart

Washington, Lincolin & Now!

Abraham was a true believer
Of God's presence night or day.
He knew evil shadows every decision
And before each he would meditate and pray.

The same so should we with purpose of heart
Ask God for answers in time of need.
As we face life's ills and the weakness of man
For jealousy, hate, war, anger and greed.

If President Washington was alive and well
And spoke of what we face today.
I wonder what he might faithfully suggest
And would we heed to anything he would say?

A valid question. Such an apt poem on President's day
