Watching After You Poem by Allen Liebenberg

Watching After You

The colour of your hair hurts my eyes
After you walked away, that’s when I started my cries
Knowing that I might never see you again
Cause my heart and soul unimaginable pain.

Reaching for my phone proves once more to me
That you no longer in my life will be
Cause there is a silence on your end of the phone
That speaks of you wanting to be left alone.

All that we had, all that we shared
Left both of us not less unsure, not less scared
Cause we had to realize too soon or too late
That this was from the start our fate.

Now I can not go a day passing by
That I find myself often loudly cry
Because I struggle with one thing on my mind;
That by love and by desire, we can become blind.
