What Love I Have Poem by Allen Liebenberg

What Love I Have

Your eyes the story of your soul
Your mouth can make a heart once broken whole
When you smile that crooked smile of yours
That can quench even the sorrow-est of scorch.

The morning light decks your face with art
The singing of the birds emphasize your heart
When they sing of a new day to come
Now, isn’t that for any sentiment a blessing some?

If my heart is heavied by the world
And it leaves me on the floor curled,
I have only to think of a certain passer by
That can again make my heart with happiness cry.

What love I have I give you til the end
What my soul bears, you can eternally call your friend
What my heart feels is only for you
Because you made me believe when I was most blue.
