Water And Air (A Song) - Poem by Jade Leven

I am floating
on this coating of misunderstanding
I am worried
I am hurried, you are so demanding

nothing can replace
the feelings that have been erased
by something as simple as a year
it is difficult to choose
what you would rather lose
your reputation, or the fact that I am standing here

and I can't mess this up
I'm in love and I am stuck
waiting for a place to sign my name
on the walls or in your skin
on the outside or within
where will I find you?
where will I find you?
now my lungs don't seem to work
when I try to breathe, it hurts
you tell me that water and air are just the same
and I believe you
and I believe you

we are walking
and I am talking, but you can't hear
the one thing you
just don't seem to understand is fear

although I have tried to explain
and I thought I made it plain that these problems can't go on
you only turn away
and force yourself to say that it hasn't been that long

and I can't mess this up
I'm in love and I am stuck
waiting for a place to sign my name
on the walls or in your skin
on the outside or within
where will I find you?
where will I find you?
now my lungs don't seem to work
when I try to breathe, it hurts
you tell me that water and air are just the same
and I believe you
and I believe you

the midnight sky is black as coal
but the stars are shining through
and even though I have my doubts
I can't seem to give up on you

the city lights start coming on
as I'm drifting into the sea
but suddenly I realize
that this won't distance you from me

and I can't mess this up
I'm in love and I am stuck
waiting for a place to sign my name
on the walls or in your skin
on the outside or within
where will I find you?
where will I find you?
now my lungs don't seem to work
when I try to breathe, it hurts
you tell me that water and air are just the same
and I believe you
and I believe you

on the surface there are raindrops
and my heart stops, now I feel death's stare
I am sinking through the water...
so different from air.

Your song is heart-felt. Emotional atmosphere is like local instability. It can change and rearrange everything.

    Air is the medium
    For water to hold
    Interstitial dependency
    Love molecules to mold

    We are those molecules
    Water finds its own way
    Co-Motions in her fickle air
Weather to fall or where to stray
