Water Flow Poem by Patrick Villareal

Water Flow

The flow of water runs down the stream
The night sky gleaming upon the currents of my dream
The sounds of nature fill the clean air
By the stream I am free of all despair
To preserve its flow is my desire
To grow old here is what I enquire
To lie softly among the trees and things
To forever sleep and live like the ancient kings
To live off the fat of the land!
The possibilities would have been grande
But it wasn't my destiny as I am forced to leave
Cast out like his wicked children; poor Adam and Eve
Forced to leave behind what I deemed as perfect
To forever live in exile for I am imperfect
To never again see this beautiful and lively stream
To awake in tears from my undefiled dream.
