Water - Life's Sine Qua Non

Water - life's sine qua non
.
sine qua non for all life forms
as a.big issue, it is.the norm
in stock there is.plenty
but pity, no equity
dry months, in tea cups, there are storms
.
history replete with wars fought
as by migrants water is sought
as invaders cause their rout
races get wiped out
to replace, new culture is brought
.
it is tough time for other animals
species extinction is in the.signals
man's sense for justice
can save from this precipice
equity.has no place for.criminals
.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A very big issue for all life forms- access to potable water. There is a big urban crisis staring at all major cities-for eg Cape Town. Agriculture requires plenty of water. Animals run helter skelter looking for water. Many species have gone extinct. Wars have been fought.Equity with water should be of urgent concern for mankind.
equity-the quality of being fair and impartial.
sine qua non -an essential condition; a thing that is absolutely necessary.

If our country had emulated the Gulf countries and had given a little more care to water conservation and preservation. We have no qualms in polluting water bodies with toxic chemicals and industrial waste. A great write alerting us not to have the fate of the people of Cape Town!

Water is elixir of life! Through right methods of conservation we can store a lot of water for dry months. But we don't have the far sight of even a squirrel that stores up for the winter months. We get plenty of rain fall during the monsoon! But much water is allowed to flow into the seas and oceans. (cont.)
