Watery Poem by maria guzvic

Watery

To be a leaf
On waters brink

Standing on the banks
Preparing to sink

River flows slowly
Visions are fast

A step into darkness
A dreaded past

Cast off and spin
Surge and swell

This is the end
A darkening knell

In limbo I float
My eyes held tight

Pulling and tugging
A Trojan in fight

Plucky to the last
Unafraid to drown

I’m leaving now
I’m heaven bound
