Dark is the night as the moon shines bright
I hear it calling to me in whispers tight
My heart full of memories​, ​ the perfect love
Gone, forgone as the wind tricklin​g​ in trees above

I thought I had it all, like the sunrise on a distant shore
The grace of god brought her to me, and more
Took my dark side and set it free
And I found there was an inner me

I don't want to linger on the past
as time could not replace it fast
The shine of your beauty on my heart and soul
Everlasting, my love for you will never grow old.

My heart of memories brings it back
The perfect love you gave to me intact
My expressi​ons​ of love are on a blank canvas
Your brush strokes painted the colors of my heart.

Now the colors have faded and we are forever apart
When I lost my way i thought you'd understand.
If you only knew I'd be your man forever at the start
Like the waves and the shore constant​ly​ shuffle the sand

Time could not erase what my heart feels within
But now ill never know if I could ever love like that again.
