The pain on your face
The pain in your heart
Is a pain that will never
Truly depart

It's lived there for many years
It will be there for many more
For none of us really knows
What the future holds in store

But as long as you showed love
Then shared that love with others
There's no need to stay in bed
And hide beneath the covers

Sure I know every now and then
Life can be so very cruel
There is pain that we all carry
Just like we did in school

Life has a way of making things
All work out in the end
Because when all is said and done
Life to most has been a friend
