We Are Poem by Jennifer Rose

We Are

We are broken
The unwanted poor souls
Mistfits without cradling arms
The sun shunning us
Shade overshadowing us

We are in pieces
But we are strong
Fighting for our innocence
The right to continue living
Never once looking back

We are truly free
Even when you proclaim our guilt
No one cares
Don't judge what you are yourselves
Can you really not see our truth?

We are not giving up
So just dropp your eyes
Unlock our chains
And give us our light back
So our dignity will no longer be shaded

We are stronger broken
Than as one being and mind
Than as one heartless mob
Than as those high and mighty
Don't look down on what you can't change

We are not your slave
We are not greed
We are not selfish
We are heroes for our people
We are those forgotten in history
We will overcome your cruelty
