We Are All In This Together Poem by Deanna Samuels

We Are All In This Together

Covid-19

Three months have gone by but Covid-19 still has a strong hold
Stay in-doors, keep personal distance, do as your told
That is the government's general constant order of the day
If not, they say, things will get worse, so please do as we say
By keeping in doors, away from others, isolating yourselves
Will help defeat spread of this deadly Covid-19 virus
We are all doing our best to abide by this very strict rule
Keeping ourselves and families amused to stay real cool
Only one person per household allowed to supermarket to shop
The rest stay back home to reduce deadly virus to hop
The world out there is in the same solitary situation
Billions confined to their homes, as we - we are not alone
Her Majesty The Queen in her nationwide address
Encouraged us, that with unity and resolve, stand up to the test
So everyone out there, please let us all do our bit to comply
Make it easier for those in the front line on us to rely
This is a time when we are all in this together
And together, for however long, will succeed and conquer
