We Are Born To Die Poem by Francis Duggan

We Are Born To Die

Rating: 5.0

We are born to die life works in this way
For all of us there is a last night and day
Whatever you achieve in life for you there is an end
Death does not treat anyone as a friend
Time does not wait it ticks on and on
Tomorrow will dawn and yesterday has gone
Many who thought they were irreplaceable not living today
But everyone is replaceable seems true for to say
You may be looked on as important but it goes without doubt
When you breathe your last you will be done without
Like all creatures of Nature to life we come to and life from us go
Our prime years do not last and time becomes our foe
A fact of human life and fact it does not lie
Like all other life forms we are born to die.
